Ultrasound platform’s functions broaden range of scans

Toshiba Medical Systems clinical application specialists Filia Smith and Jane Hanford with ultrasound superintendent Suzanne Adams.

St John’s Therapy Centre, part of St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has chosen a Toshiba Aplio 500 to cover a range of scans, including 3D gynaecology, small parts and general abdominal imaging.

Ultrasound superintendent Suzanne Adams said: “We reviewed a number of machines from different manufacturers before deciding that Toshiba not only met all our clinical needs, but went beyond our expectations.

“Image quality and the wide range of advanced system functions were the main deciding factors in selecting the system.  With the advanced functions we have been able to increase the range of work we are able to perform, including oral contrast and 3D gynaecology.”
