Vacuum biopsy receives strong interest

Hologic radiology sales specialist Louise Davies.
The use of vacuum assisted biopsy is gaining widespread recognition as clinicians realise that it can save the patient unnecessary trauma and pain, while yielding high quality tissue samples, says Hologic.
At a meeting in Birmingham, Hologic radiology sales specialist Louise Davies gave a presentation and a practical demonstration of the ATEC vacuum biopsy system to a group that included the manager of a breast screening programme, surgeons, consultant radiologists and radiographers from the City, Sandwell and Walsall hospitals.
Hologic product manager Paula Scully said: “It was good to see so many people turn up. The purpose of the meeting was to give an introduction to ATEC before we installed two systems at the City and Sandwell site. The attendance confirmed just how much interest there is in the use and benefits of vacuum biopsy.”
