Whiston Hospital improves workflow

Whiston Hospital has experienced faster turnaround for x-rays since receiving three GE Healthcare digital mobile x-ray systems.  The Optima 220amx mobiles enable radiographers to produce high quality images at the patient’s bedside, with images appearing almost immediately.

“The DR mobiles have had a hugely positive impact on turnaround time which has been beneficial to all concerned,” said lead radiographer Andrea Burke.  “The short examination time for the patient, the swift availability of images for clinicians, the superb image quality and the increased throughput of examinations per unit have been of great benefit.

“It has been particularly well received by our intensive care unit which has welcomed the opportunity to provisionally view images at the time of examination.”
