Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is to continue growing its interventional radiology service with a Philips AlluraClarity FD20 IR system. Installed at Worthing Hospital, the equipment is a replacement for an existing system and has been supplied with an array of the latest software packages and an integrated Philips ultrasound scanner.
Strategic radiology manager Phil Hassman said: “We already have experience with Philips’ IR equipment across West Sussex and find the vascular imaging package excellent. We plan to continue the expansion of the IR service out of Worthing; the equipment will allow the continued development of peripheral vascular interventional procedures as a spoke centre of the Brighton vascular hub. The image quality and facilities of the new room will also allow more complex embolisation procedures and emergency cases, including the availability of anaesthetic support in IR.”
