Young patients are quickly assessed with M-Turbo

Dr Jon Jin Kim, Dr Mignon McCulloch and Dr Christopher Reid with a SonoSite M-Turbo at Evelina Children’s Hospital.

Evelina Children’s Hospital, part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, has been using ultrasound to carry out kidney biopsies and assessments for many years and, following a long-standing relationship with SonoSite, has chosen an M-Turbo hand-carried system.

Paediatric nephrologist Dr Christopher Reid said: “The M-Turbo is an extremely useful tool; we use it for guiding kidney biopsies and also for urgent or quick assessments of patients who may be suffering from an obstructed bladder or congenital kidney problems.

Dr Reid added: “SonoSite has always given us good support and the instrument itself is easily portable with a good sized screen, and produces images of good resolution – it is absolutely perfect for the job.”
