New CT scanner for trauma patients at East Surrey

In front are deputy CT scan superintendent Shennan Jose, Toshiba Medical account manager Jamile Siddiqui and CT porter Enzo Castrechino. Behind are diagnostic imaging assistant Diane Picknett, specialist radiographers Melanie Myall and Amaryllis Konitopoulou, consultant radiologist Dr Riaz Ahmed, specialist radiographer Lorna Kyan, consultant in emergency medicine Dr Csaba Szekeres and interim interventional lead radiographer Helen Bucknall.
East Surrey Hospital has received an Aquilion Prime 160 CT scanner, making it the third Toshiba Medical scanner at the hospital. Sited in the emergency department, the equipment was selected for its reliability and the after sales service, as well as its low dose capabilities and image quality.
CT scan superintendent Shennan Jose said: “The excellent training package provided by the Toshiba Medical team met our learning needs exactly. The equipment has a very user-friendly platform staff can move seamlessly between scanners. We are already reaping the benefits of selecting the bariatric couch option and the horizontal move’ feature is very useful for trauma patients.”
