Multi-purpose fluoroscopy adds to facilities

Caerphilly borough’s new local hospital Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr has acquired a Toshiba Ultimax i multi-purpose fluoroscopy system.  

 

The £172 million hospital project has more than 250 single en suite rooms and opened its doors in November.  Radiology manager Amanda Evans said: “We are happy to welcome Toshiba to this new and exciting hospital – the only 21st century hospital in Wales!”

The Ultimax i system will be used for a wide range of procedures including barium studies, joint injections, epidurals and MSK work.  Senior barium radiographer Lynne Moses said: “The system produces excellent quality images and is very user friendly.”
