UKIO 2026: join us in Liverpool for three days of CPD and to gather as a community to shape the future of patient care

UKIO returns to Liverpool on June 8-10, 2026, not simply to host the UK’s largest multidisciplinary imaging and oncology congress, but also to gather as a community united by a shared purpose – shaping the future of patient care.
This year’s theme is Putting humanity at the centre of healthcare – in the age of the machine and UKIO president, consultant interventional neuroradiologist Dr Shah Islam – tells us about his vision for his first congress as president and some of the developments you’ll see there:
“Healthcare is in the midst of a digital transformation unlike anything we have seen before. Yet while technology may be the catalyst, it is people who create progress. This year, we place the spotlight on the healthcare professionals and teams whose expertise, compassion, and courage are redefining what is possible for our patients.
“I am honoured that our opening plenary speaker, Professor Shafi Ahmed, will share his journey as a clinical innovator and global thought leader. His perspective will challenge and inspire us to ensure that as we advance technologically, we also advance humanely — keeping empathy, ethics, and patient-centred care at the core of innovation.
“On the second day, in partnership with Signify Research, we will host a live, on-stage “no holds barred” debate on the true state of AI adoption in the UK. This will be a bold and honest conversation about where we stand, where we are heading, and how we can responsibly harness AI to benefit patients and professionals alike.
And this year also marks the launch of the inaugural UKIO Awards — a celebration of the individuals and teams whose dedication transforms lives every day. These awards are about recognising impact, inspiring one another, and reminding ourselves why our work matters. Nominations open soon, and I encourage you to shine a light on the colleagues who inspire you.
“UKIO 2026 is more than a congress. It is a meeting of minds, a catalyst for ideas, and a moment to reaffirm our collective vision for the future of healthcare. I look forward to welcoming you to Liverpool as we take this next step forward together.”
As always, UKIO 2026 will be your one-stop shop for:
Three days of educational updates and a programme you can tailor to suit your needs
The congress offers three full days of CPD and the latest cutting edge-content. With 120+ sessions to choose from, there is something for everyone. The sessions are put together by an expert working party of radiologists, oncologists, radiographers, academics and healthcare scientists, giving UKIO a unique multidisciplinary nature.
As always, the programme will cover a breadth of topics – from education and workforce, digital technology, and service optimisation, to clinical topics and hands-on and interactive workshops. New for 2026 is a stream called DGH Radiology, which is tailored to radiologists to provide an on-call summary – making UKIO the place to come for all your generalist updates outside of your specialty. In addition, the programme will also feature dedicated sessions for trainee radiologists and student radiographers.

Unbeatable value-for-money CPD
UKIO offers an accessible pricing structure that offers value-for-money CPD with affordable fees for full congress access and a full-access free ticket on the Wednesday, as well as exhibition-only options that can be used on any day. 2026 also sees the return of one-day ticket options to allow for more flexible attendance.
Early booking discounts are available until March 31.
Lots of opportunities to network
UKIO delegates always rate networking as one of the most important aspects of the congress. With 3000+ people expected onsite, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to join up with like-minded professionals, connect with each other, build your contacts, and be inspired and invigorated.
