Medica is powering NHS AI through smarter clinical workflows

While the NHS 10-Year Health Plan recognises AI as fundamental to healthcare transformation, diagnostic service provider Medica says most trusts lack the funding, expertise and governance infrastructure to implement it safely.
Medica has focused on solving these challenges by redesigning clinical workflows, processes and systems that it says allow AI to deliver meaningful impact. Led by Dr Amrita Kumar, the company states it has “developed a mature operational ecosystem that embeds AI into real-world radiology practice.”
“Our approach prioritises clinical validation, clear governance and infrastructure, and continuous monitoring across pathways such as CT head bleeds and stroke detection, to musculoskeletal fractures and lung nodule tracking. Our AI ecosystem is live today, supporting clinicians and improving patient care.”
Medica says it understands AI implementation is not about purchasing algorithms, but about how people, processes and systems work together. It says it provides trusts with the governance expertise, technical infrastructure, clinical validation protocols, and continuous performance monitoring needed to adopt AI safely and sustainably without building complex systems from scratch.
“NHS trusts don’t need another vendor; they need a partner who understands the clinical, operational and regulatory complexities of healthcare AI,” the company continues. “Medica offers turnkey AI operations: proven workflows, established governance and expert clinical leadership built from years of
NHS front line experience.”
