Nottingham City Hospital bowled over by CT system

At Nottingham City Hospital are senior radiographer Shaun Dykes, consultant radiologist Dr Khalid Latief, radiology services manager Sara Bharmal, superintendent radiographer Paul Holland, assistant radiology manager Liz Bowness (lying down), England and Nottinghamshire county cricketer Samit Patel, assistant radiology manager Marie Hodgskiss, NUH chief executive Peter Homa and Siemens Healthcare regional sales manager Sarah Sandhu.

Nottingham City Hospital, part of the Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust, has installed a Somatom Definition AS CT system to provide robust oncology diagnosis, efficient and lower dose interventional procedures and to offer cardiac imaging.

It is being used for routine oncology and vascular procedures.

The system was recently opened by England and Nottinghamshire county cricketer Samit Patel.

“With the Definition AS CT system we are hoping to perform some cardiac imaging, and the new scanner will be better able to cope with vascular and more routine procedures,” said CT superintendent radiographer Paul Holland.
