Cancer Partners UK aided by Dorado’s accuracy

At Cancer Partners UK The Park Centre in Nottingham are senior radiographer Karen Booth, radiographer Sabina Begum, lead dosimetrist Mark Bowler, radiographer Louise Scattergood and lead radiographer Susie McAllister.
Cancer Partners UK has opened its fifth image guided radiotherapy site, at The Park Hospital in Nottingham where Oncology Imaging Systems has supplied LAP patient positioning lasers and a couch top for the CT suite.
The Dorado 1 system with moving sagittal and fixed sides was installed onto a GE CT scanner, matching the set-up at Cancer Partners UK’s other centres that have Siemens CT scanners, ensuring consistent patient positioning throughout.
Alongside the lasers, a Quantum fully indexed, carbon fibre couch-top was supplied, that has a reduced thickness while still retaining the rigidity.
Cancer Partners UK’s head of radiotherapy Sarah Hynd said: “The Dorado laser system is one of the market leaders and has the highest degree of accuracy which improves patient positioning, essential for us to provide our patients with pinpoint accuracy when they have their daily image guided IMRT. As Cancer Partners UK has grown and opened new centres, we are pleased to be able to continue to benefit from Oncology Imaging Systems’ excellent training and follow-up programmes for staff.”
