Pictured with workshop attendees at Mount Vernon Hospital are Vertec radiotherapy product specialists Mike Holroyd and Michael Davis, Ashland product developer Dr Andre Micke, Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, head of RT physics Anthony Palmer and Ashland scientific consultant Dr David Lewis.

Mount Vernon Hospital was the last venue on a tour by Vertec and Ashland (ISP), inventors of Gafchromic film, aimed at new and existing users of the film.  The tour also took in Swansea’s Singleton Hospital and Northampton General Hospital.

Unlike previous workshops, the aim of this tour was to put more emphasis on practical use and experience of EBT2/EBT3 film dosimetry with FilmQA Pro software, including presentation and analysis of users’ own films, to give them the tools and knowledge to refine and develop their QA and dosimetry protocols.

The meeting was also the venue for the launch of a new product division of Vertec Scientific, called Vertec RT, that will focus on products and services in radiotherapy.
