East Lancashire Hospital NHS Trust has invested in a wide range of equipment from Hologic. Included are three Selenia Dimensions mammography units, two with an Affirm upright biopsy system, the first Trident specimen radiography system to be sold in the UK by Hologic and an ATEC vacuum assisted biopsy system, all installed at the Edith Watson Unit of Burnley General Hospital.
Breast imaging clinical director and consultant radiologist Dr Dobrashian said: “These investments are good news for the service and good news for local women. They demonstrate our commitment to continually improve the service and keep pace with developments in available technology.”
