As part of the overhaul, Philips replaced an existing system with a Philips MultiDiagnost FD C-arm fluoroscopy unit.  Chairman of the trust’s board Aileen McLeish and Philips Healthcare evp and ceo Deborah DiSanzo attended the opening.

McLeish said: “This is the first stage in a big programme of improvements for our radiology department which will significantly benefit our patients and staff.  The latest equipment and refurbishing all our patient areas will make a huge difference and we are delighted to be celebrating the opening of this first phase.”

Cutting the ribbon DiSanzo said: “What we are doing for Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals Foundation Trust is really important, but it is also very important to Philips Healthcare.  Working together in this way, creating something that is best for patients that will improve quality and lower costs, is the future of healthcare.  I can’t wait to come back and see how the project progresses.”
