Dundee Cancer Centre has replaced its Dicom archive with a radiotherapy PACS from Pukka-j.  Capable of handling the complexities of oncology imaging, the systems facilitates centralised storage of radiotherapy and radiology imaging.

Ninewells Hospital provides a range of services for patients with the more common cancers and specialist services for less common cancers.   Radiotherapy physicist Stephen Mason said: “As the demands for data flow in radiotherapy increased, the ideal solution for the centre was a single integrated system that would allow users to send and retrieve radiotherapy data sets from a wide array of applications.  The system needed to have a user friendly interface to allow review of images across the hospital site.

“A relatively large storage capacity was required with flexibility for future expansion.  There was a requirement to anonymise data for trials and training.  The solution offered by Pukka-j met all our current needs and gave us lots of scope for service improvement.”
