University Hospital Coventry’s medical physics department has taken delivery of two, multi-modality RTI Black Piranha x-ray QA systems, supplied by Southern Scientific.

The department also opted for the CT Dose Profiler with an automatic Mover device.

Head of radiology physics Chris Koller said: “We were particularly impressed by the ease of use and flexibility of the Piranha system.  It was a specific requirement that the system of choice could support the department’s pre-existing ion chambers as well as the comprehensive selection of probes supplied with the system.  This is facilitated by the Ion Chamber Adapter that allows third-party ion chambers to be attached to the Piranha’s base unit.”
