Standing are Philips UKI MRI applications specialist Emma Taylor and commercial lead Jane Robinson, senior neuroradiographers Sylvia Silva, Pat McCutcheon, Daniel Leaver, Louise Pearman, Nicky Moore, Stella Howchin and Jonathan Rhodes, consultant neuroradiologist Dr Andrew Clifton, Philips UKI managing director Neil Mesher, project manager David Tolhurst and service delivery manager Peter Tanner.  Seated on the couch are senior neuroradiographers Aoife Blick, Sarah Foote and Shan Sealy.

St George’s Hospital, Tooting, has avoided construction work at its Atkinson Morley Wing by having its existing MRI scanner upgraded.

Philips UKI converted a 1.5T MRI scanner to an Ingenia dStream system via the SmartPath conversion programme.  With advanced neuro software packages, it eliminated the need to take down outside walls and also reduced project timescales and costs.

Superintendent neuroradiographer Sarah Foote says: “We have a longstanding relationship with Philips and we look forward to continuing this in the future.  Our radiographers find the system user-friendly as there is now greatly reduced manual handling; not having to lift the spine coil.  Feedback from our radiologists reveals that the head sequences look very similar to a 3.0T system.”
