Consultant to share MSK expertise during travelling professorship

Trainee radiologists from across Great Britain will have the opportunity to benefit from the expertise and guidance of a Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust consultant who has been awarded a travelling professorship.
Consultant radiologist Professor Tom Marshall has received the accolade from The Royal College of Radiologists and British Society of Skeletal Radiologists.
Professor Marshall, who has worked as a consultant at the Norfolk trust for almost 25 years, will share his experience to raise the profile of MSK imaging among trainees by delivering seminars and tutorials over the next 12 months, in addition to his current work. He said: “It is an honour to have been awarded the professorship in recognition of the work I have done throughout my career as a consultant. Radiology has evolved dramatically over the last three decades with advances in diagnostic and interventional techniques. We have worked hard to develop an interventional spinal service, which has led to the trust being recognised regionally and nationally for this work. I very much look forward to sharing my experiences with radiologists in training across the UK.”
Professor Marshall has been pivotal in creating the regional spinal intervention service with spinal surgeons; using minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of osteoporotic and metastatic vertebral compression fractures; and implementing an image-guided radio frequency ablation service for the treatment of benign and malignant bone tumours.
