Copenhagen hospital reduces stress using long view detector

After four months evaluating Fujifilm’s D-Evo GL long view detector for scoliosis and hip/knee/ankle examinations, Copenhagen University Hospital (Rigshospitalet) has declared that it is satisfied with the results.  “The GL detector is very fast,” said radiographer Pernille Klenz Andersen.

“It takes less than half the time to carry out the examination using the GL, sometimes even faster, and only requires a single exposure.  This reduces stress on the patient and decreases the risk of artefacts.”

When Klenz Andersen arrived at Rigshospitalet 11 years ago she saw that many scoliosis patients suffered from having a long wait to see whether the result of the exposure was successful.  “Ten years ago at ECR in Vienna I went round asking exhibitors if anyone had developed a direct digital long panel but no-one had, so I was very glad when I heard that Fujifilm was developing a long detector.”
