Lancashire trust goes the extra mile with seven systems

GE Healthcare point-of-care ultrasound clinical applications specialist Laura Brereton, hospital divisional procurement manager Gareth Pashley, clinical equipment manager Ivan Haskell, clinical procurement manager Andrea Hawkes, consultant anaesthetist and equipment lead for anaesthesia Dr Tony Adams, consultant anaesthetist and clinical director for anaesthesia Dr Anna Bewlay and GE Healthcare point-of-care ultrasound specialist Jon Robinson.

Royal Preston Hospital, Lancashire, has received seven GE Healthcare ultrasound systems to be used in main theatres and critical care for vascular access, regional anaesthesia and FAST trauma scanning, as well as echocardiography and lung scanning in the critically ill.

The order comprised three Logiq e and four Venue 40 systems.  Consultant anaesthetist and equipment lead for anaesthesia Dr Tony Adams said: “I am delighted Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has gone the extra mile and purchased these ultrasound systems, which will make a real difference to the quality of care we are able to provide for our patients in the operating theatre and critical care environment.”
