Fabio Pirrone to help deliver Medica’s clinical governance framework

Medica Group has appointed Fabio Pirrone as interim head of clinical excellence, a role focused on further strengthening clinical governance, improving quality and supporting safer systems of work for both radiologists and radiographers.

Pirrone brings a strong clinical background, with a career spanning front-line radiography and senior leadership roles across acute and independent healthcare, including King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London.

Throughout his career, Pirrone has developed a deep understanding of how clinical excellence is delivered in practice, with particular expertise on data-driven approaches to clinical governance. His work has consistently focused on building safer services that are capable of learning and continuous improvement.

In his interim role, Pirrone will lead the delivery of Medica’s clinical governance framework and strengthen clinical audit across its teleradiology and imaging services. He will also oversee the implementation and governance of clinical AI deployments used by Medica’s clinicians, ensuring a data-driven approach to innovation, so that AI is introduced safely and with appropriate oversight. Central to the role is the development of more sustainable systems of work used by radiologists and radiographers, supporting Medica’s ability to operate globally at scale.
