Royal Victoria Infirmary bolsters patient care

Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK, has updated its surgical equipment at the Royal Victoria Infirmary with four Cios Fusion systems, from Siemens Healthineers’ Cios C-arm family.  Patients are expected to benefit from increased quality of care during a range of surgical interventions, including orthopaedic, urologic and paediatric procedures.

“The four C-arms have been in high-demand ever since the installation was completed in September,” said plain film and theatre superintendent radiographer Mark Paterson.  “From delivery to applications training, we have received excellent service from Siemens Healthineers and we are delighted to see the technology giving our teams more resilience in the theatre service.”  The systems had to demonstrate compliance with the trust’s strict guidelines on IT requirements in connection to mobile network and the use of its DHCP networking protocol.
