Symposium is a vital opportunity for delegates to discover the latest advances in vascular intervention

Professor Mo Hamady and Dr Raghu Lakshminarayan launched the first VITALS (Vascular Innovation and Technology Advanced Learning Symposium) on March 24-25, at Sopwell House in St Albans. The programme chairs, supported by the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR) vascular special interest committee, welcomed more than 150 delegates to the residential meeting for two days of interactive discussions with expert panels.
VITALS 2025 highlighted advanced technologies and groundbreaking treatments, enabling experts to present the latest advances in vascular intervention. Attendees explored a wide array of clinical applications, from cutting-edge minimally invasive techniques to the newest device implementations aimed at enhancing patient outcomes. The symposium emphasised incorporating new technologies into routine clinical practice, demonstrating how these advancements are transforming treatment approaches and elevating the standards of care. One key focus was the discussion of health economics, where experts analysed cost effectiveness, resource allocation and economic strategies that underpin successful technology adoption in healthcare settings. Interactive workshops and live recorded case studies provided hands-on training and practical insights, enabling participants to witness real-world applications and procedural nuances. Training sessions were designed to bolster professional skills, offering guidance on everything from device operation to data-driven decision making in complex interventional scenarios.
Three abstract winners in the aorta, peripheral vascular and general vascular categories have been acknowledged for their contributions.
