The UK Radiation Oncology Conference 2011 (UKRO) opened in Manchester yesterday.  Held in the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, the meeting attracted delegates from around the UK for the three day meeting.

One of the highlights of yesterday’s programme was the Douglas Lea Lecture Radiobiology – the need for greater understanding and application given by Søren Bentzen.

The conference dinner is being held tonight at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester and will include entertainment from the band ‘The Manufacturers’.

A full picture report of UKRO will be published in the May 2011 issue of RAD Magazine.
