University Hospital Llandough in Cardiff is the first in the UK to install GE Healthcare’s Discovery NM/CT 670 CZT, a SPECT/CT system that the company says is the first commercially available general purpose SPECT/CT powered by CZT technology.  The system is engineered for improvements in lesion detection, image quality and patient comfort.

“This new technology allows a reduction in patient radiation exposure and acquisition time without compromising on image quality.  The investment will put the University Hospital Llandough at the forefront of nuclear medicine technology,” said superintendent nuclear medicine radiographer Nicola O’Callaghan.
