Service team leader completes 100th laser system installation

Service team leader at Oncology Imaging Systems (OIS) Josh Imber has overseen his 100th installation of LAP laser positioning systems since working with the company.

He started working with the provider of medical devices almost eight years ago in a technical and sales support role. During this time, Imber has been involved in installing new systems, repairing and maintaining a wide range of equipment as well as providing demonstrations, product training and remote support to the radiotherapy customer base. In his current role of service team leader, he is responsible for carrying out and leading the team in installations and continually enhancing the quality of after sales service.

“I feel lucky to have worked with such fantastic equipment and to install 100 systems is an honour. Although every installation has been different, I have enjoyed them all,” commented Imber. His first installation was a DORADO 1 while his 100th was a DORADOnova 5 at Singleton Hospital in Swansea.

Imber first received certification to install, repair and maintain DORADO laser products at the LAP headquarters in Germany and then completed service and applications training with ScandiDos in Sweden, enabling him to provide installation, configuration and calibration services and applications training on the Delta4 product family. Most recently, he gained his electrician qualification to complement his role.

DORADOnova systems allow users to adjust the laser focus and alignment by remote control. “The developments from DORADO to DORADOnova are outstanding and it is clear to me why the LAP DORADOnova received the German design award,” Imber said.
