Ultrasound thyroid nodule evaluation
Ultrasound examination is the most frequently used method to assess thyroid gland abnormalities by radiologists and sonographers, due to the close proximity of the thyroid tissue to the skin and the excellent images obtained using high frequency ultrasound transducers and optimised image reconstruction algorithms on current ultrasound machines.
