Specialists advance angiography at Solihull

At Solihull Hospital are CT advanced practitioner Norma Lloyd, radiology site lead Michelle Mannion, CT/MRI modality lead Eunan McGlynn, senior radiographer Iram Shabana, Toshiba Medical Systems technical installation manager Wayne Goring, senior radiographer Deborah Mason, consultant radiologist Dr Madava Djearaman and Toshiba CT/MR/XR account executive David Billington.

Solihull Hospital, part of the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, is offering the latest technology to patients with the acquisition of a Toshiba Aquilion Prime CT scanner.

CT advanced practitioner Norma Lloyd said: “One of the most significant improvements is the enhanced patient experience of a CT scan. The wide gantry aperture has enabled scans to be performed on patients unable to assume standard supine positions. In the past these would not have taken place.

“Patients with fixed, flexed knees and those unable to lie below 45 degrees can all now be accommodated. In addition, the dose reduction technology used by the Aquilion scanner enables us to provide diagnostic images at very low radiation doses.”
