Static CT replaces mobile

Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital has installed a Toshiba Aquilion 64 CT scanner, replacing a mobile CT service with the hospital’s first static CT unit. 

The system comes fully loaded with all the latest cardiac and vascular packages. 

Utilising Toshiba’s 64-row Quantum detector, it enables high-speed, high-resolution imaging with the lowest noise.  The system can acquire 64 simultaneous slices of 0.5mm with each 400-millisecond gantry revolution, resulting in precise isotropic imaging during a breath-hold of less than 10 seconds.

Paramedical service manager Phillip Jones said: “We particularly like the inclusion of ‘applications for life’ that allows you to get telephone advice or arrange visits for training throughout the life of the scanner.”
